SENIOR WEALTH ADVISOR

In my twenty years as a financial planner, I have successfully guided clients through major life events and some of the most difficult financial markets in decades. I understand the value of money and how hard people work. When they say, “Am I going to be comfortable in my retirement?”, I want to say “yes” with confidence.

Kelly Pather – My Story

My area of expertise within the Legacy Family Office team at Assante Financial Management Ltd. is working with professionals and retirees who are making major life transitions. And, those transitions usually come with doubts. Assuring them that the work has been done, and the correct strategies are in place for them to live out their retirement as planned, is paramount. Though I deal with numbers and data, there is an emotional side of the equation in every plan. Taking a holistic approach to develop an all-encompassing view of a family’s financial picture, we dig deep into concerns and work with the facts to achieve the best solutions for a family’s unique scenario.

It is no surprise that I landed in this career. When I was growing up, my parents were successful entrepreneurs, but a series of unfortunate events led to them losing their business. We went from wanting for nothing to needing everything in short period of time, and ended up having to move in with my grandmother. My drive as a young adult was to never have that happen to me and now, as in my role as a financial planner, helping support our clients so that it never happens to them.

During my career, I have had the opportunity to be a part of different planning teams, and I can testify that what Legacy Family Office offers families is unique. Our difference is that we truly offer inter-generational family planning. Our team has the skills, experience and accreditations to work with the different generations within families and their businesses. The age range of our planners and advisors allows us to align relevant team members with each generation within a family. All things combined, we have a complete family offering.

I also believe that giving back to the community is an important part of life. With a passion for the arts, I am a committee member for the “Ballet BC: Up” program that provides opportunities for young patrons to support one of the world’s leading contemporary ballet companies, while connecting with other young arts enthusiasts in Vancouver. I also volunteer as the co-manager of my daughter’s soccer team.

Outside of the office I can be found doing something with my husband and our two children – their social calendars are way fuller than mine! It’s a balance between their soccer schedules and making sure that their homework is done.
